Attorneys attend Evidence CLE

The Florida Bar Association requires attorneys to complete a certain number of continuing legal education (CLE) hours per year in order to maintain their membership and active status. The attorneys at Matthews & Jones, LLP decided to take a team approach this past Friday, February 3, 2017, and attended an Evidence CLE course together, and the outcome exceeded expectations.

The team-centered approach enriched the experience as the attorneys quickly found themselves engaged in dialogue about the various evidentiary topics– sharing view points and personal experiences, and, together, developing new ideas. The Evidence topics included: Admissibility of Expert Testimony, the Daubert vs. Frye test, and a three-part series addressing Electronic Evidence, which included a rundown of the latest developments regarding evidentiary issues relating to the use of ESI (Electronically Stored Information), and the impact of social media on evidentiary issues. The day concluded with a group dinner where the attorneys were joined by their spouses/significant others.

We are reminded it is the support of our families and our support of one another in both personal and professional development that makes our firm great. We share a commitment to excellence in the practice of law, as well as a deep dedication to our clients and the community as a whole, and days like last Friday remind us all of that shared vision.
